Military Advocates SA is a dedicated not-for-profit organisation committed to assisting veterans and their families across South Australia during times of injury, illness, and crisis.
Our experienced Wellbeing Advocates provide crucial support to the families of veterans, including the children of veterans.
We can provide advice to schools and school counsellors on what services are available to support veterans children and families.
Our Services
Our network of Wellbeing Advocates spans South Australia, offering comprehensive support in various areas:
- Claims Assistance: We guide family members through the Department of Veteran Affairs claims process.
- Advocacy: We represent veterans at the Veterans Review Board.
- Counselling Support: Emotional support during crises or bereavement.
- Financial Assistance: Help with managing financial challenges.
- Support for children of veterans: Assisting families in caring for children and ensuring they can access all supports available.
We take pride in our independence, and all our services are completely free of charge.

Our dedicated Wellbeing Advocates are here to provide essential support to veterans children. They can assist with:
- Counselling Services: we can refer you to appropriate counselling services who specialise in supporting veterans and their families with tailored services building healthy families.
- Payments for dependent children under 16: Advice and assistance in applying for payments and allowances for dependent children.
- Support for orphans: Referring to appropriate support services and assisting in identifying and applying for financial assistance like pensions and other allowances.
- Education Support. We can assist in applying for allowances such as:
- Education and career guidance
- Education allowances
- Special assistance allowances
- Rent assistance.
- Tertiary students start up and relocation scholarships.
- Energy support supplement
- Long Tan Bursary
- Additional Tuition to help students with their studies
- Special Assistance provided in exceptional circumstances
